Charity Seams to Fit

Since we began our business over twelve years ago, it has always been important to give back to the community.  Items that went unsold in our stores were donated to a local charity if the consignor wished.  But in the summer of 2010, we began a new program, Charity Seams to Fit, which gave us a more direct line to donate to local charities.  Consignors can choose to have their unsold items sent to our online charity store where 100% of the net proceeds go directly to a charity of the consignor’s choice.  As the year 2011 came to a close, we revisited our charity program and thought we’d share some of the amazing work that has occurred through the generosity of our consignors and our community.  In 2011 alone, we were able to donate $12,700 to our four local charities, bringing our grand total donated to $18,800 since the program’s inception in July 2010.  We’re so excited to be able to hit even bigger milestones, like $20,000 and $25,000 in the year 2012!!

Do you want to be apart of this phenomenal program??  It is SO easy!  When you bring in your items for consignment, just let us know you would like your unsold goods to be sent to our charity program and you can personally select which charity you would like your donations to go to.

Northwest Portland Ministries:

Northwest Portland Ministries creates a caring community of volunteers who help neighbors in need live with dignity and purpose. They provide food through their food pantry, Food for Kids Program, Loaves and Fishes, transportation, recreation and helping hands. (www.nwpm.org)

Dress for Success of Oregon:

Dress for Success of Oregon provides resources and support to help low-income women successfully enter the workforce. They offer professional clothing for job interviews and the workplace, and assistance with resume preparation and job search. (www.dressforsuccess.org/oregon)

Self Enhancement, Inc. is dedicated to guiding underserved youth to realize their full potential.
